This article details the last diary entry of Anne Frank, a German-born Jewish girl who spent her teen years in a secret Amsterdam apartment hiding from Nazi forces. Anne, a nickname derived from her given name of Annelies, was gifted a diary for her 13th birthday on June 12, 1942. Anne and her family moved into the secret apartment that July. Her last diary entry is dated August 1, 1944; German police discovered the apartment days later. Anne was sent to a concentration camp that November and died of typhus the following year.
