While ChatGPT is known for being able to write just about anything, it may not yet be completely capable of writing essays that will score high grades. After joining a high school AP English class, a Wall Street Journal reporter received a score of three out of six on her ChatGPT-authored essay due to factual inaccuracies, lack of "vivid-ness," and low overall writing quality. However, a score of a three equates to a B or a C—which is a passing grade. For this reason, teachers and schools are worried about cheating and ChatGPT's potential power to prevent learning and promote compliance.
